Bought a car with XPEL film, or getting ready to sell one? Here's how XPEL's paint protection film, ceramic coating, and window tint warranties work when a vehicle changes hands — and how to keep your coverage intact.
Is Your XPEL Warranty Transferable When You Sell Your Car?
If you invested in XPEL paint protection film, ceramic coating, or window tint here in Atlanta, one question comes up a lot — especially when it's time to sell or you're buying a used car that already has film on it: does the XPEL warranty follow the car to the next owner?
The short version: XPEL's manufacturer warranties are registered to the original purchaser and the specific vehicle, and in most cases the written warranty is not transferable to a new owner. But that's not the whole story — the protection itself stays on the car, and documented XPEL work is a real selling point at resale. Here's exactly how it works.
## What XPEL actually warranties
Not every XPEL product carries the same coverage, so it helps to separate them:
- Paint Protection Film (Ultimate Plus, Stealth): a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects like yellowing, staining, cracking, peeling, bubbling, and delaminating. - Ceramic Coating (Fusion Plus): its own multi-year limited warranty terms, separate from PPF. - Window Film / Tint (XPEL PRIME): a limited warranty against bubbling, cracking, and color change for the original owner.
Coverage protects against manufacturing and material defects — it is not a "hit a curb and we'll replace it" policy. Normal wear, road-hazard impacts, and improper care aren't covered.
## Transferable, or not?
